I know what it is like to feel overwhelmed when learning a new and complex skill. Starting without direction or a guide can be stressful and often leads to just giving up. In fact, simply walking through the art store can cause decision fatigue. In my class, we begin with a limited number of supplies to learn each material's proper handling and characteristics and ways to keep a clean and safe environment. My comprehensive lesson plan is designed to get you quickly painting on your own with confidence.

Testimonials

Erik is a talented artist, passionate about art, and truly wants each student to discover their own approach to painting. You will not regret taking this course no matter how much experience you have with art!

Erik allowed for you to truly express yourself in your art, he always looked for differing view points and wanted to create a family-like studio environment. Erik was very encouraging, and always strived for the artist to believe in them self. He made himself available for anything you may have needed.

He is amazing at one-on-one interactions with students and guiding them individually. Very knowledgeable about oil painting.

He is supremely talented at his craft, yet humble. He demonstrates genuine interest in his students' creative processes and future goals, and is extremely responsive to students' interests, providing additional, optional resources for independent study.
